Watched 江山美人 last night!

I think the movie is so-so, not VERY nice, and not VERY bad either, just like some normal war movie, without the gory battle scenes. Wasn't really good compared to movies like Troy and Gladiator. For those who are going to watch the show, do not read on.

The movie is about Yan Dynasty at war with another country. The king was injured on the battlefield, and decided to let Xuehu (Donnie Yen), an ophan whom he adoped, ascend his throne after he die. The nephew of the king, not happy with the decision made by the king to let someone with no blood relation with them to ascend the throne, kills the king. The princess, Fei'er (Kelly Chen), "somehow" became the new ruler and she has to be trained to be a princess warrior. It something like Mulan actually. The nephew ordered assassins to kill Fei'er, making her unable to appear on the day she was to be crowned queen. Fei'er was hit by a poison dart and rescued by this forest dweller called Duan Lanquan (Leon Lai). Why is everyone's surname Duan nowadays?! Abit of the flirting scenes here and there, and Fei'er went back to the palace.

Apparently, she couldn't forget Lanquan, gave up her throne to Xuehu and another loyal subject and decided to be with Lanquan. Some scenes that involve them stripping (You know what I meant) and blahblah boring stuffs. One fine day, the nephew led a group of army and killed the loyal subject. Xuehu went back to the palace and was ambushed by the nephew's army. THEN. A bunch of Xuehu's loyal warriors shielded him from the attacks and ask him to escape, while sacrificing their lives to save him. At the treehouse of Lanquan, they were attacked by ninja-liked assassins and Lanquan died while saving Fei'er. Subsequently, Xuehu died too, from his injuries. Fei'er managed to kill the nephew who betrayed them and blahblah, became the queen and announced that there shall not be war, or the innocent citizens will suffer.

Anyway, I watched the movie with my mom and sister, and during the bed scene, we all went ?!?!?! Actually, it cannot be counted as a bed scene, you can only see the back, but yeah, its still quite weird watching this with your mom HAHA! And so, halfway through, I cannot bear to watch it any longer and made an excuse to go close the door. Hahahaha. I am not interested in what happens next okay! At the end of the story, the girl placed the dead body in a primative hot air balloon and let it float in the sky. Can you imagine, one fine day you are farming and BOOM, a hot air balloon appears infront of you. When you look into the basket, you see this rotting corpse? Quite disgusting huh.

I just found out that its quite a long post, so I shall end here. This shall be a post about the movie!

Watched two movies today:

The Water Horse
Run, Fatboy, Run

Of course, The Water Horse is nicer. Nessie is really cute inside, and how I hate the soldiers. Some people might have different views, but I myself think that things like the Loch Ness Monster, Afterlife, Retribution, Atlantis existed. Some may think they are just stories to ensure that kids can enjoy bedtime stories, but for me, I really do think that even Atlantis was once on earth. Maybe the main reason for my thinking is the games I play (Age of Mythology : A strategic game that involves Greek mythology.) or the books that I've read since young (Life after the death of an Egyptian). Ahahaha, my mom says I read the weirdest books on earth when I was young. I'll read about Egyptian mummies (One of my favourites), Greek mythology, science-fiction stories by H.G. Wells like The Time Machine and The Invisible Man. Can you imagine it? Reading this kind of books when you were in Primary 2! Proves that I'm smart, wahaha.

But now, I totally have no time for books, or games, or whatever. Its just homework and homework. Why can't we learn more interesting things in school, maybe about how cellular regeneration (You could grow a new head if you chopped off your head) is possible in lets say, 50 years from now? It might be really crazy, but at least it is better than boring things like SOCIAL STUDIES, especially when you have such boring teachers. We might even learn about the legends of Atlantis! How did it sank? Is it really because gods were unhappy that Atlanteans became greedy and to punish them, Atlantis sank beneath the sea in one night?

I think that when I have the time, I'll do more research on things that interest me (Definitely not ghosts and UFOs), and one fine day, I might be a very well-known researcher.

TODAY IS CRESCENT'S SPORTS CARNIVAL 2008

Awesome, I love Bronte. Anyway, our sports carnival started really late due to the heavy rain. Bronte, which was the champion house last year, had the priority to sit at the corner, where it is closest to the tidbits stall, the toilets, the main gates, and the milo truck. Sadly, the rain forced all of us to sit in beside the teachers.

Anyway, I was so nervous today! I was afraid that I'll forget my dance steps and just stone there. All of us went to the stadium really early to help out and to practice the Mascot Cheer & Dance. In the end, we didn't even have the dance! Rain rain rain. The Cheer & Dance was postponed and to be performed in school. Walao! This is like, unfair to Bronte. We started our dance and mascot so early, and perfected the dance when some houses only started like yesterday or Tuesday. Postponing the thing means allowing the other houses to quickly finish their dance

Mr M was singing songs to make the rain go away, and lots of other houses did their cheers. Of course, Bronte was the best. We sang and danced to 'That Thing You Do' and was awarded extra points. Our banner and mascot are really very cute and nice too! Gladys was being super funny. "Hello I'm Bobbyna." all the way. The mascot was supposed to be called Bobby, but she went to change it to more girl-like, Bobbyna. Weird. Hahaha. There were also free hugs!

Ariel, Nicole, Letty and I helped the house comm with other stuffs, and we stood infront of the house, leading them with the cheers. I was telling Ariel "Eh, we mixed into the house comm, although we aren't from the house comm." Hahaha! But still, standing infront of the rest gives you a great view of the track and the results of each competition.

Went home with a really muddy shoe, and so I scrubbed my own shoes! I'm being filial okay, by scrubbing my own shoes so that my grandparents do not have to help me wash them. I was so tired I just slept on my sofa till 5.30?!

Watched '27 Dresses' after my dinner. It is about Jane, who loves being a bridesmaid since young. The beginning of the movie even showed her attending two weddings in one night. She went for a total of 27 weddings and stuffed all her bridesmaid clothes into this huge closet. The closet burst anyway. At one of the wedding she was pushed down by someone and fainted. This guy, Kevin, helped her up and yeah, sent her home. Kevin likes her but Jane loves her boss, George. One fine day, Jane's sister, Tess, came back from her holiday. George fell in love with Tess and even proposed to Tess. And so Jane had to help the guy she love plan the wedding. By the way, Tess is this annoying bimbo who is super @$#$$! She lied to George about being a vegetarian, liking animals and loves outdoors, just like him. In fact, she eats ribs like crazy and holds cats by their tails. And so yeah, go watch it yourself, wahaha.

The movie is quite nice actually, and Kevin is so sweet! He liked Jane, and so when Jane dropped her organiser and he picked it up, he went home to write his name and phone number on every single day of the organiser. Hahaha! Jane got really fed-up and didn't like him at all. But in the end, like all fairytales and stories go, they ended up together.

Okay okay, its really late now, I need to go sleep or my dad is going to lock my out of my room haha. One last cheer for BRONTE!

My 101th post!

Anyway, I've just finished watching the movie August Rush. Pretty nice actually, and you will feel very relaxed while listening to all the symphonies and everything.

The story is about this child prodigy, Evan, who can listen to music all around him. His grandfather sent Evan to the orphanage when he was just a newborn as he thinks that the child will hinder his daughter's future as a musician, since his daughter was unmarried, obviously cos she had a one night stand. Anyway, one fine day, Evan followed the music and escaped from the orphanage, hoping to be able to find his parents by following the music he hears. A series of events happened and blahblah, some pastor saw the music talent in him and sent him to Julliard (Its the number one music school in the world), where he wrote amagnificent piece called "August Rhapsody" during one of his lessons. The piece would be performed in some concert thing, and blahblah, his mom, dad, were all there and they reunited. The end.

Of course, the movie sounds... boring, from my poor description, haha! For more information, WATCH IT ON YOUR OWN!

Okay, I saw the show 10,000 BC on my player, so planning to watch it I guess. Oh wait, there's JOHNNY ENGLISH! Wahahaha! Yeah man, its going to be hilarious. Off I go now!

Yesterday's tournament was great. It didn't wasted all my hard work.

To all those who looked down on Crescent Chess, WE WON A MEDAL. You pathetic souls go face the wall and cry. I bet some of you never even win a medal in your CCAs before.

Although it was only a medal for the 17th position, it didn't came easy and I had a great sense of achievement. I have to admit that some losses in the game was really a blunder and I SHOULD (not could) have won her, just like what my coach says "She didn't win you, you LOST to her.". I thought about it for a few mins and I really felt that I've let the school and my coach down. I had 4 points before the last game, and if I win the last game, I can surely get a medal. In the end, I got so stressed up that I over-protected my king, and did not see a move that could have checkmated her. Now imagine. Your coach, your friends, were all watching your game behind you. EVERY move is crucial, one mistake and thats it. Your friends are looking at you, to see if you can really help the school to get a medal.

At the last few minutes of the game, I totally gave up hope. I was hoping for a chance to be stalemated, and so I let her eat everything of mine and force myself into a corner. In the end, I ran out of time.

I really felt like the whole world crashing on me. A medal, gone! Just like that. Ariel SMSed me asking about my score, and I told her that I threw my own medal away. She consoled me and although I felt much better, I sat through the presentation with a heavy heart.

The 20th position was first called. And I look. It was my friend from Yishun Town. Slowly, all my other opponents that lost to me went up for the medal. I totally gave up any hopes of clinching one. Then, 17th Position, Seah Hui Yan of Crescent Girls' School! I was so shocked! My first ever chess award!

Anyway, this tournament also let me take a good look at some of my friends whom I thought were quite nice. One of them were so annoying I felt like slapping her. She was sitting beside my opponent during the last game. At the beginning of the game, I offered my opponent a draw, and said that having a draw will benefit us both. And you know what that "friend" said to my opponent?

"Aiya, eh don't draw with her. I think you can win her, not that I think you (looking and referring to me) are lousy, but yeah, I think she can win you."

At that point of time, I don't know whether to smile or flip the chess board and knock the table over. And of course, she influenced my opponent not to draw with me. I complained to my coach about this, and she warned her, saying that the Arbiter might punish her by deducting her time. What a loser. Its not about the thing that she said that my chess was lousy, its that CAN SHE JUST MIND HER OWN BUSINESS? In the end, she was just two positions infront of me. Big deal!

By the way, I changed my blogskin to the current chess one, cos I think that this is quite nice, and CHESS IS THE NEW IN THING! But if I think that my previous one looks nicer, I'll change it back, haha.

Mr Koh and Ms Lee left school today. Actually, Mr Koh is leaving at the end of next week, but it doesn't really make a difference, cos next week is the school holidays.

Mr Koh sang for all of us again today! Walao the song really made me feel so sad la, like, he's really a very very good principal and is always so cheerful and humourous. He's like the only one to write a Chinese New Year card to chess club when the whole school don't even care about chess club. I'll never forget the days where he was briefing us for the EV Interview and that day we asked him to help us film a DV Campus video for Mrs Lee's departure. He was laughing away about how fake he look cos from the camera, its quite obvious that he is looking at the script which was placed behind the cameras.

Our cute little A Maths intern teacher, Ms Lee left too. I was quite sad about it, trying hard not to cry, but I know that she has to leave Crescent some day, she has her own studies and her ambitions. I hope that she gets what she wanted. Anyway, her letter for me was really encouraging, and I nearly cried when I read it, especially when she gave me a hug afterwards.

Ms Lee is always encouraging me to do even better for my maths, and she said that no matter how the end results are, its through the process that we learn and grow. No teacher has EVER came to console me whenever I failed my maths tests, and especially during this common test, I felt really sad when I flunked it. Ms Lee told me that I could do it, because hard work pays and she know that I could do it. I think practically all teachers gave up on me. I don't do maths homework, I don't pay attention during maths lessons, I don't really care about my maths results, and in the end, I have so many borderline failures.

But for this year, I'm really different. I have wonderful teachers who can really make you interested in maths (I've always thought that maths only stands a teeny weeny part of our life and whoever makes a big fuss over maths is seriously dumb). These two months of maths lessons have been a really fun and productive one, and I really thank Ms Lee for being so patient with me, always staying back after lessons to teach me questions that I do not know how to do. For those who doesn't appreciate what the intern teachers have done for us, you ask yourself, why must the teachers help you when you don't even appreciate them.

Ms Lee (I know you are reading this), I'll miss all your lessons where you had such a soft voice and often had to scream, your (3sf) which turned into (3s1), your maths consultations after school, that day we went to find the 3 of you for Chemistry consultation but we ended up talking to the other China teacher instead, and your test paper filled with mistakes.

I really hope that you get the results you wanted, and to the Poly you wanted to go to. I promise you, I'll work hard for my A Maths, cos I know one day, I can tell you that I scored well for it!

By the way, I forgot about the (3sf) chop that I said I was going to make for you, cos too many people in our class would always forget to write (3sf).

A very short post, so it would be in note form.

1. I'm changing the picture on my blogskin.

2. Mrs Wong came over and congragulated me on getting distinction for E Maths. She went to ask my teachers for my score cos she knows that I'm very concerned about my Maths scores. She really motivated me alot, and before I forget, this blog shall remind me to go visit her when I have the time after I leave Crescent.

3. Mrs Wong wrote me a card and made me a lovely bookmark. Really sweet of her. She really remembered everything that I told her during the councelling session. I am considering writing a card for her in return, if I have the time.

4. Miss Lee is leaving on Friday, thats sad. She is receiving her A Level results. I hope she get what she wanted. She helped and motivated me alot in my maths and I'm very disappointed that I didn't manage to score a distinction for her to see before she leaves. She nearly made me cry when I receive my A Maths results!

5. Our new Social Studies teacher is seriously very boring. So I played online chess during her class instead.

6. Lunching with Moose today was great, thanks Moose.

7. Our class really scored very bad for English Common Tests, the highest in class got only 23/40.

8. I got a distinction for my Social Studies!

I had such a stupid dream yesterday. I dreamt that *breathes* my mom actually married me off to...

MY COUSIN.

Oh my god that is like hilarious. An arranged marriage between me AND MY COUSIN?? (The cousin is my dad's cousin's son. Which means, my grandmother's brother's son's son." I've made a family tree to let you see how far we are related.

Anyway, the cousin I meant isn't the one I often talked about, he's not Jing Qin. Its another male cousin of mine who is like 20 years old and in NS now? He is actually better-looking than Jing Qin, opps! But really, that is really like the stupidiest dream I've ever had. The problem is - in the dream, I am actually PREGNANT, even before the wedding! Super funny and stupid, so stupid until I feel like killing myself for having such a stupid dream. This is really driving me nuts. Anyway, in the dream, I told Chermaine about this "good news" and she gave me her classic "OMG" face. I think when she see this post she is going to give that face again, haha. I'm not very close to that particular cousin of mine, and I don't see him very often, maybe only during Chinese New Year. That dream really freaked me out. Why on earth would I dream about someone so... random? Walao when I woke up I burst out laughing, then, started thinking if I'm really on the verge of madness. I just hope my mom don't see this post, or she'll laugh till her jaws ache and the next time she sees my cousin she is going to tell him about this. Oh my god so embarrassing. Luckily, I don't see this cousin often, or I'll be reminded of this pretty often and I won't go near him. Hahaha.

Okay, stupid topics aside, I found out that I'm quite relaxed after the common tests, and the results are fairly okay I would say. I studied so hard for A Maths and yet I didn't get what I wanted. E Maths was a jaw-dropper though.

Like seriously, I hate school nowadays. I had a talk with Mrs Wong, and although what she told me made me felt better, some things still cannot be changed. What is worse is that I cannot write what I feel in this blog, or my tagboard would be flooded by all the vulgaraties and I'll top the chart for the 'Most Un-welcomed Person" in my class. I cannot tell everything to Chermaine either, so I had no choice but to go to Jessica. Thanks moose, for everything - your encouragements and your listening ear.

Now then I realise that being a Treasurer isn't easy, people will always think that you swallowed their money whenever you want them to pay for anything like competitions.

"Why can't we use the money from class fund?"

"Why is the money going out so quickly?"

"Why are you forever getting money from us?"

"I forgot to bring the money, I'll give you tomorrow." Tomorrow and tomorrow and you still haven't pass me the money, GO. AND. EAT. YOUR. OWN. CRAP. WORDS.

Some are worse, they give you attitude when you ask money from them nicely. I called your name 3 times and you just "urm" so softly. Don't think I cannot see your irritated face, come on la, you know it yourself that you aren't very well-liked in class with this kind of attitude of yours. Get a life man, you need to change all your dumb attitudes that you are giving to your classmates and your teachers.

I'm just super fed-up with all the stupid things happening here and there. Its not that I dislike school, its just all the little little things will add up to irritate me like hell. Why can't we even play during __ nicely and treat each other like classmates instead of trying to kill them? What the hell is the problem, man.

I'm super irritated now, and I think I'll have to go see Mrs Wong again. I have so many things to say and yet, I cannot tell them to my form teacher. It'll be so obvious to the class that I'm the "bad guy" who bitched about the rest of the class behind their backs. And I'll top the "Idiots Chart" for the whole year. This is driving me crazy.
